Magnus Development Partners is proud to announce that Candace Leaphart has joined the development firm as CFO. Leaphart will serve an integral role on the executive leadership team at Magnus as Chief Financial Officer and brings a wealth of experience throughout her 25 years career in finance. Prior to joining Magnus, she was the Chief Financial Officer at Hammond School in Columbia, SC for ten years. Before that, she was self-employed as a CFO and controller for organizations in North and South Carolina which include The Climatic Corporation, The Carrier Corporation, The South Carolina Waterfowl Association, and various other companies involved in commercial real estate, property management, corporate space solutions, land trusts, and insurance. Early in her career, Leaphart also worked as controller for Standard Corporation, a third-party logistics company that provided contract logistics services and outsourced solutions in warehousing, distribution, transportation, information technology, and manufacturing support.
As CFO, she is responsible for corporate finance including cash management, financial planning and reporting, accounting, tax, and investor relations. Additionally, Leaphart will handle the design, implementation, and supervision of accounting systems, procedures, and policies in order to produce timely and accurate financial reports. Outside of Magnus, Leaphart currently serves as treasurer for the Original Six Foundation and is an active member of a variety of organizations within the state. She is a native of Spartanburg, SC and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
